Mr. Thomas Edward “Tommy” Williams, 62, of Wadesboro, died Saturday, March 6, 2010, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.
     Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Lilesville with Rev. Bill Whitlow officiating. Interment will follow in Jowers Cemetery.
     The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, March 8, 2010, at Leavitt Funeral Home.
     Tommy was born June 6, 1947, in Anson County, N.C., a son of the late Edward Thomas and Beulah Ricketts Williams. Prior to his declining health, he was employed with West Knitting Mills.
     Surviving are his brothers and sisters, Elmer “Bud” Williams of Lilesville, Van Williams and Winnie P. Williams, both of the home, Ronnie Williams of Bumpus Mills, Tenn., Louise Almanza of Atkinson, N.C., Frances Gathings and Margaret Chewning, both of Wadesboro, and his nieces and nephews and their families. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph and Calvin.
