Mrs. Willie Mae Oliver Phillips

     Mrs. Willie Mae Oliver Phillips, 73, died Saturday, July 24, 2010, at her home.
     Services will be 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 27, 2010, by the graveside in the Phillips Family Cemetery, Mt. Vernon Road, Ansonville.
     The family will greet friends from Monday, July 26, 2010, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the home.
     Willie Mae was born May 5, 1937, in Anson County, N.C., a daughter of Essie Hough Oliver and the late Willie Franklin Oliver. She was a member of Charity Baptist Church, Albemarle and was retired from the N.C. Department of Corrections.
     She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Gene Phillips, and by a granddaughter, Wendy Jo Thompson Little.
     Surviving are her children, Dannie Earl (Rene’) Phillips, Debbie Jo (Coe) Blake, Tammy Lynn Blanchette and Steven Kelly Phillips, all of Ansonville, and Billy Ray (Melanie) Phillips of Yancey County; her mother, Essie Hough Oliver of Wadesboro; and her brother and sister, Willie Franklin Oliver, Jr. and Frances Griggs, both of Wadesboro; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
