Allen Molaro

     Allen Molaro, 62, of Peachland, child of God, husband, father, brother, grandfather and uncle, died on Monday, July 19, 2010, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.
     Born in Anson County, N.C., in 1948 to John and Dethane Lisenby Molaro, Allen graduated in 1966 from Wadesboro High School and received his BA degree in 1970 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He earned a Masters Degree in administration and education from Winthrop University. In 2007, he retired from public education. During his retirement years, Allen was a cattle farmer.
     Allen was a member of First United Methodist Church, Wadesboro, and the Anson County Cattleman’s Association, serving as its president for one year. He received the 2009 Farmer of the Year Award.
     Allen served as a Military Policeman in the U.S. Army Reserve and as an SSG E6 in the 881st National Guard Association from 1970 to 1993. He did a tour of duty in Italy during the 1980’s and also served his community when his unit was called to active duty during Hurricane Hugo.
     Surviving are his wife, Vickie Whitaker Molaro; his children, Phillip (Heather) Molaro and Alicia (Matthew) Parker; his grandchildren, Carson, Samantha, Ryan and Archer; his sister, Carol (Bobby) Williams; and his niece and nephew, Alanna and Justin Williams.
     He was predeceased by his parents, grandparents, and his grandson, Nelson Salvatore Molaro.
     There will be a memorial service at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 24, 2010, at First United Methodist Church with the Reverend Rob Rollins and Mr. Ken Goins, CLP, officiating.
     Friends and family are invited to share with his family in a celebration of Allen’s life on Friday, July 23, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the church.
