Mrs. Myra Kate Stubbs Horne, 80, of Wadesboro, died Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at Sandy Ridge Assisted Living in Candor.
     Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 5, 2010, in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in Eastview Cemetery.
     The family will greet friends Thursday, March 4, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
     Myra was born September 10, 1929, in Anson County, N.C., a daughter of the late Charlie Robinson and Waco Eunice Stroud Stubbs. She and her husband, the late Jessie E. “Bud” Horne, owned and operated Bud’s Freeze in Wadesboro for 24 years.
     Surviving are her children, Gene Horne and wife Marsha of Morven, Charles Horne of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Jeff Horne and wife Lynn of Ansonville, Perry Horne and companion Terry Parsons of Naples, Fla., Warren “Punk” Horne and wife Leatha of Wadesboro and Myra Ann Horne and companion Steven of Wadesboro; her sister, Lois Smith of Wadesboro; her step-sister, Nita Tucker of Wadesboro; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
     In addition to her husband, Bud, she was preceded in death by a son, Kress Horne.
